Join us after the Pride Parade on July 3 for the brassy and bold VICTOR/VICTORIA, starring the legendary Julie Andrews tap-dancing and cross-dressing her way through “Gay Paree”!
Love is love is love—especially in the City of Lights. Broadway’s brightest, Julie Andrews, stars as a struggling Parisian soprano Victoria, who gets her first taste of success after masquerading as the drag queen “Victor.”
Directed by BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S and PINK PANTHER’s Blake Edwards, VICTOR/VICTORIA boasts a 96% Rotten Tomatoes rating, and was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won the Academy Award for Original Music Score.
The film would later become adapted into a stage production, directed once again by Edwards with choreography by Rob Marshall—yes, that Rob Marshall (CHICAGO, INTO THE WOODS). Andrews, who reprised her role on Broadway, was the production’s lone Tony Award nomination. She rejected the honour, stating that she would rather “stand instead with the egregiously overlooked” cast and crew. What a classy dame.
